[su_spoiler title=”Read More” style=”default”] Knuckle Up Douglasville Martial Arts , There is not a better gym in Douglasville, Villa Rica, Carolton, Hiram or Austell to train Martial Arts, Jiu Jitsu, Muay Thai, MMA or Kickboxing.

Cadio Kickboxing – Knuckleup Fitness kickboxing classes are designed to introduce members to the fundamentals of Muay Thai and Full Contact Kickboxing while providing an exciting, high energy workout. This is first and foremost an interval training program. It has been proven that the best way to increase lean muscle mass, flexibility cardiovascular health and decrease unwanted body fat in a limited amount of time is by interval training. This is done by doing low resistance, intense cardio work in a short period of time (2 minute round) then slowing the heart rate down by doing a higher resistance exercise during the (1 minute rest period.) This allows everyone regardless of fitness or skill level to get their heart rate up at a level that is ideal for them to improve their overall ability to perform then drop it back down and improve recovery time. All classes at Knuckleup use the interval training concept.

Muay Thai – The art of Muay Thai is a great workout, a thrilling sport and an extremely applicable self defense technique all rolled into one. For those that aren’t familiar with Muay Thai, it comes from Thailand. Glorified in many action movies for its devastating power, Thai Boxing incorporates striking with the fists, elbows, knees and feet. Like most competitive full contact fighting sports, Muay Thai has a heavy focus on body conditioning. Thai pad training is a cornerstone of Muay Thai conditioning which involves practicing punches, kicks, knees, and elbow strikes with a trainer wearing thick pads which cover the forearms and hands. Muay Thai training is often part of a fighter’s overall mixed martial arts training because of the striking elements that you learn with this martial arts technique. Even if you are not looking to become a professional fighter, Muay Thai is a great workout and extremely applicable to effective self defense.

Brazilian Jiu Jitsu – Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is a martial art and combat sport that focuses on grappling and especially ground fighting with the goal of gaining a dominant position. It promotes the principle that a smaller, weaker person using leverage and proper technique can successfully defend against a bigger, stronger assailant.

MMA – As one of the fastest growing sports in the world, just about everyone has heard of MMA in one form or another. Whether it’s the UFC, IFL, or WCL, people are coming to appreciate the level of athleticism, courage and training it takes to step into the ring or cage. Knuckleup Fitness has a heritage of training professional fighters for over ten years. Our instructors and students have competed on the national and international arena and have been featured in the UFC, ILF, and WCL. Whether you want to fight competitively, learn to defend yourself or just train to get in shape, you will find that training along side professional fighters will get you the best results and more wins under your belt than other less established programs. Knuckleup Fitness has cultivated a winning atmosphere to showcase our talent all across Georgia and the United States. Look for our next Knuckleup Production and see for yourself that we are the real deal when it comes to MMA.

Kids Classes – At Knuckleup Fitness, we provide instruction in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, the ultimate grappling art for kids! Like wrestling and Judo, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu teaches the use of “technique over strength.” Kids, no matter how big or small, learn how to use their size to their advantage to counter all kinds of punches, kicks, and holds. They also learn to use the opponent against themselves to achieve throws, take-downs, and position control on the ground, which can stop any attacker no matter their size or strength. All kids’ classes are taught by black belt instructors at the same time as our other adult classes, so parents can easily workout when their kids are in class! In addition, classes are offered at all levels of experience and age groups ranging from 3 to 12 years olds. Students also get the opportunity to compete against one another in Knuckleup’s Competitive Sparring League. This inter-club competition is designed to help children develop positive competitive attitude and spirit.[/su_spoiler]
